LOREN STOWE, DIRECTOR OF PRODUCTION

Current Position and Research:

Mr. Stowe recently joined the Center for Product Development (CPD) at the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute (VTTI) to act as the technical arm of the CPD to develop VTTI's research technology and tools into industrial and consumer products. In this role, he works closely with the Center for Technology Development to aid in the design of new technologies and with outside vendors to develop strategic relationships to support the production, distribution and support of the products in the market.

Relevant Experience:

Prior to joining the VTTI, Mr. Stowe spent over 10 years in the consumer sporting goods industry. There he and his team were responsible for applied research and development of new and novel measurement techniques as well as providing key technical support on core product development for a 1+ billion dollar company. During his tenure, Mr. Stowe also acted as project manager for several large projects involving sensor based technologies ranging from radar, MEMs inertial systems, and high speed video based tracking systems for internal and commercial application.

While at the University of Iowa, Mr. Stowe's work centered around vehicle related research for vehicle dynamics used in simulation and in sensor systems for both vehicle and human performance studies.
