Transecurity has invested heavily in the development of automotive "black box" technologies designed to provide two lines of defense against crashes. First, our system monitors a variety of sensors that provide information about how the vehicle is being driven and the conditions surrounding the vehicle such as road configuration, traffic, weather, etc. When our sophisticated algorithms detect that an event of interest has occurred, a video and data record of the event are captured and stored for later analysis and coaching opportunities. Second, if our system detects that a collision is imminent, we provide immediate feedback to the driver, directing their attention to resolve the conflict. No other system on the market today combines these functions into a single, cost effective safety system.

The heart of the system is the "black box" or main processor unit (MPU). Transecurity's MPU has been designed to be powerful enough to run several safety applications simultaneously in real time while remaining flexible enough to be configured for our three main applications which include commercial fleet drivers, teen drivers, and driving researchers. The special needs for each of these groups shows up in the real time driver monitoring algorithms that run on the MPU, the types of data that are captured, the software used to review the captured data, and the types of feedback and coaching that are supported. Transecurity has leveraged its experience and relationships in driving behavior research, fleet operations, and vehicle telematics to develop exciting new driving safety products that are focused on generating real world results.
